Our Story

Mended Church didn’t begin as an idea—it began as a response

How it Started..

Mended Church didn’t begin as an idea—it began as a response. A response to brokenness, to stories that didn’t feel finished, and to people who needed more than words—
they needed presence, care, and a place to begin again.
For years, we gathered as Restoration Church. In that time, we witnessed something meaningful: God meeting people in real places—places of loss, struggle, and uncertainty—and beginning to rebuild what felt lost. Lives were steadied. Hope returned. Families began to heal.
We are deeply grateful for that season.
It shaped us. But over time, something became clear.
Restoration is not the end of the story—it’s the beginning of it.
To restore something is to bring it back. But God doesn’t stop there. He mends. He rebuilds with care. He forms something stronger, more whole, and deeply rooted.

How We Live This Out...

At Mended Church, what we believe shapes how we live. It guides how we show up, how we speak, and how we walk with people through real life. We choose dignity first, recognizing that every person is created in the image of God and worthy of respect, patience, and care.
We walk with people, not ahead of them. We don’t rush healing or expect quick fixes—we listen, we learn, and we make space. We serve without judgment, meeting people with compassion and humility, and we stay connected in community because no one is meant to carry life alone.
We act with wisdom, stay grounded in truth, and keep showing up—even when it’s slow or difficult—because people are worth it. At the center of everything we do is this: we don’t expose wounds, we help mend them. We are still growing and learning, trusting that God is continuing the work He started.

How This Might Look...

We believe the work God is doing here is only the beginning. What started as restoration is continuing into something deeper—lives being mended, relationships being rebuilt, and a community learning how to walk with one another in lasting ways.
We are growing into a people shaped by care, patience, and a commitment to doing this well.
As we look ahead, we see a community that extends beyond a single gathering—one that shows up in everyday places, walks with people through real challenges, and
creates spaces where healing can take root over time. Not quickly. Not perfectly. But faithfully.
A place where dignity is protected, where people are known, and where no one has to carry life alone.
We don’t know every detail of what’s ahead, but we trust the direction. We will keep building slowly, serving intentionally, and following where God leads. Because if what begins here continues to grow, it won’t just change individual lives—it will shape a community. And at the center of it all will remain this:
we don’t expose wounds—we help mend them.

The Simple Breakdown ...

We are becoming a community that walks with people in healing, we protect dignity, and we serve with care—because we don’t expose wounds, we help mend them.

THE BEGINNING:
A response to brokenness.
To stories that didn’t feel finished.
To people who needed more than words—
they needed presence, care, and a place to begin again.
OUR FOUNDATION:
For years, we gathered as Restoration Church.
In that time, we saw God meet people in real places—
in loss, in struggle, in uncertainty—and begin to rebuild what felt lost. Lives were steadied. Hope returned.
Families began to heal. We are deeply
grateful for that season. It shaped us.
THE SHIFT:
What became clear, over time, something became clear:
Restoration is not the end of the story.
It’s the beginning of it.
THE DEEPER WORK:
To restore something is to bring it back.
But God doesn’t stop there.
He mends. He rebuilds with care.
He forms something stronger, more whole, and deeply rooted.
WHO WE ARE NOW:
That’s the work we’re stepping into now.
Mended Church is a community being restored by Jesus—
and helping others experience that same healing.
We are not a place that rushes people through a process.
We are a people who walk with others—
steadily, patiently, and with care.
CORE STATEMENT:
We don’t expose wounds.
We help mend them.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY:
We’re still becoming. Still learning what it means to love well.
Still being shaped into the kind of people
our community needs. But we trust this:
What God has started here, He is continuing.

Life wounds people
Jesus restores them

The church should be a place where healing happens and where no one walks through life alone.
